How to properly burn a candle
Candle Safety Knowledge
When burning your candle, always allow your wax to melt from side to side, creating a full melt pool. Meaning your candle is liquid from on side of your vessel to the other with only about half inch to 1 inch deep in liquid wax. This can vary from 2-4 hours.
Extinguishing your candle before a full melt pool can result in tunneling. Meaning, you will have wax residue on the sides of your jar…. and we don’t want that. Although it can be fixed, we want to avoid it.
To fix uneven melt pools. Simply wrap tin foil midway up the jar and around the edges of your candle. Almost like you’re covering pie crust. Burn your candle as normal. This will concentrate the heat on the wax residue on the side of your candle jar. Monitor your candle as always. You will soon see the wax melting into an even melt pool. Then you can, safely remove the foil when you have extinguished your candle and it has cooled.
Never allow candles to burn while unattended.
Keep the wick trimmed to ¼ inch.
Keep wax free of any foreign debris.
Never burn your candles more than 4 hours at a time.
Keep candles away from drafts.
Discontinue use when only ½ inch remains.
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Allow candles to cool completely before handling.
Always burn candles on a heat resistant, leveled surface.
Do not burn around flammable materials.
